STEM 2018 – A New Year

I do not have a clear idea of what I am doing for STEM yet, but I know that it is something along the lines of an animation about the environment. It could be a game, an app, or a short film. I personally would prefer a short film, with some further awareness tips, but I have yet to discuss it thoroughly with my group.

I am currently in a group of four, but figuring out how to split the animation would be difficult, as we all have different styles and only I have a proper animating program. There is nothing stopping us from using Photoshop, but it would take me a little bit to get used to. It would also take time for gaining experience because as far as I know, I am the only one in our group at least somewhat experienced in 2D animation. Another member knows how to animate 3 dimensionally, with a proper program, but we don’t know which one we will use yet.

After discussing this with my group, and contemplating how we would do it, I suddenly remembered what I watch so often on YouTube: MAPs. Multi-Animator-Projects.

We will animate this the same way that everyone does in MAPs. With a set script, set character designs and colour patterns, but different styles – also, 2 dimensional. I know that this will work, even though it will be hard.

To explain what exactly we are planning to do when we talk about animating, I mean creating a video to raise awareness. To show the simple things that people can do to help our environment. It’s not much, but it’s better than nothing.
